After completing my studies in chemistry and a long and exciting career at Philips, it was time to broaden my knowledge about wine.

In 2016 I started the level 2 course at the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust), followed by level 3 in 2017. This tasted, just like a good glass of wine, for more and at in the fall of 2017 I started the Diploma Course (level 4). With classes in Geisenheim (the wine university in Germany) on viticulture and winemaking, and the lessons on still wines of the world, sparkling wines, fortified wines, and spirits by excellent teachers we learned the secrets and stories behind the world of wines. In 2019 I successfully completed all exams and celebrated this at the Graduation Day in London in January 2020.

With Wijn-educatief I want to share my knowledge of the beautiful wine stories, the influence of terroir on the character and the taste of the wines, through customer-oriented courses for both private individuals and the business market (restaurants, bars, team building events). Understanding what wine has to offer in aromas and flavours, the backgrounds of the vineyards and winery enriches the experience of a good glass of wine.
